Detailed Description | TEC-1122 | TEC Controller
The TEC-1122 is a specialized TEC controller / power supply able to precision-drive two independent Peltier elements or resistive heaters. Each channel features a true bipolar current source for cooling / heating, two temperature monitoring inputs (1x high resolution, 1x auxiliary) and intelligent PID control with built-in autotune. The TEC-1122's hard- and firmware offer various communication and safety options.
The TEC Controllers are digitally controllable through our free of charge PC-Software or API and scripting. There is even a LabVIEW VI software (PDF) available to operate the TEC controller. Several communication and security features enhance the functional range.
Other TEC controllers use the power input directly to generate a PWM signal for the Peltier element, which produces interferences. We generate direct current (DC) using SMPS instead, for ripple free output current and higher efficiency, what is advised by Peltier element manufacturers. (More info)

From firmware version ≥ 6.20, all Meerstetter TEC Controllers offer optional, pay-for software features that make the TEC Controller even more versatile. Try all features free of charge for the first 150 operation hours and then order from the specific feature product page(s).
Please note: The PC Software itself is always free of charge. Only a few advanced features within the software require a license after the first 150 operating hours of the TEC Controller (not of the software).

Paid features for TEC controllers (optional)
- Driver Channel Splitting: enables the conversion of a single bipolar output channel into two separate unipolar channels.
- Cascade Temperature Control: improves the precision and speed of applications with fast thermal setpoint curves, especially in PCR systems. The additional cascade control loop improves temperature transitions and stability, resulting in faster and more accurate cycle performance.
- Temperatur Estimator: improves thermal applications by allowing the TEC controller to control to a virtually measured target temperature without the need for direct, invasive measurement.
