Detailed Description | LDD-1137 | Laser Diode Driver
The LDD-1137 is a specialized laser diode driver able to work as CW Laser diode driver. New emerging technologies like eGaN FETs enable better efficiency. A new processing core enables a faster processor connection to the powerful FPGA, more interfaces, additional functions and much more, while still maintaining a 1.5 mA resolution with much higher current and keeping a very low output ripple.
This high power Laser diode driver is our most powerful device. As it has a max output of about 4900 W, it can be used as a diode driver, as well as a Laser driver. Equipped with optional light measurement circuitry, the LDD-1137-LPC can also be operated as a Laser Power Controller.
The LDD-1137 offers various safety features, including an input for Laser diode temperature monitoring. They are fully digitally controlled and the firmware is upgradeable to offer various communication options and to meet specific customer requirements.

- Light Power Control (LPC): Control of the optical output power instead of the current: The laser diode output power is measured and controlled using a photodiode.
- Feedforward Control: Combination of feedback and Feedforward Control: This function compensates for non-linear effects and load fluctuations and thus improves the control quality, especially with rapid load changes.
