It is based on a digitally controlled current source and provides digital, internal signal generators (on the microcontroller). External signal generators can also be used via the analog input. It also includes a lookup table (LUT) for generating setpoint curves.
The power stage is designed for low currents and enables stable and reproducible current control. The proven MeCom interface and the PC software for configuration and monitoring support efficient integration and commissioning.
Optional expansions:
- The LDD-1321 can be supplemented with the plug-in TEC Driver Board (PWR-1191). This board features a bidirectional current source that adds TEC controller functionality to the device.
- The Light Power Control (LPC) function is available as an additional feature via a software license.
Detailed Description | LDD-1321 | Laser Diode Driver
The LDD-1321 laser diode driver is a digitally controlled current source for operating laser diodes in continuous-wave (CW) mode. The linear output stage enables stable and reproducible current control, designed for low-current applications.
The device is fully digitally configurable and offers integrated protection functions such as overcurrent, overvoltage, and overtemperature protection, as well as an interlock input. External temperature monitoring is possible via NTC sensors.
Several interfaces are available for system integration, including USB (galvanically isolated), RS485, RS232 TTL, and CAN. Communication takes place via the MeCom or CANopen protocol. The PC software supports configuration, monitoring, and data acquisition.
Optionally, the LDD-1321 can be supplemented with the PWR-1191 expansion module. This provides a bipolar output for driving Peltier elements or resistive heating elements and enables the integration of a temperature control system.
